​Your adventure begins when you meet your Ultimate Adventures guide in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where you’ll get changed into your specialist caving equipment before heading towards the Alum Pot cave system.

Once there, your guide will provide a full safety briefing and introduce you to the ropes, harnesses and technical equipment used throughout the experience.

Then comes the moment you’ve been waiting for.

Standing at the top of Alum Pot’s spectacular natural shaft, you’ll clip into the ropes and prepare to make an incredible 200+ ft abseil into the cave system below.

With your guide supporting you throughout, you’ll descend deep into this enormous limestone shaft, surrounded by towering rock walls as the underground world opens up beneath you.

It’s an unforgettable descent and a real highlight of vertical caving in the Yorkshire Dales.

And reaching the bottom is only the beginning.

From here, you’ll continue your journey underground, exploring passages, chambers and fascinating cave features while tackling scrambling sections and a variety of subterranean challenges.

Throughout the experience, you’ll travel through wet, rocky and uneven terrain while discovering an incredible environment formed over thousands of years.

Eventually, you’ll make your way back to the surface with a huge sense of achievement, having completed an unforgettable 200+ ft abseil and vertical caving adventure through Alum Pot.
